You don't have to, but it's wise, especially in high season and for larger groups. Book ahead and your bike is ready at the right height. We hold a reserved bike for half an hour.
We settle up at the desk in cash. There's no card machine at the rental, so bring enough cash.
We're open from 1 April through 30 September, daily from 09:00 to 17:00. In rain or cold we may be closed, feel free to e-mail ahead if in doubt. From October through March we're closed.

We arrange child seats on request. Let us know how many and what age when you book, and we'll set it up.
Certainly. For a group it's wise to book, so we can set out enough bikes at the right heights. E-mail us the number of people, the date and everyone's height, and we'll arrange it.
Yes, you can safely leave your luggage with us during your ride. Handy between two trains, so you don't have to take suitcases into the polder.
We're right next to NS station Zaanse Schans / Zaandijk, the train drops you off right there. By car you park free at Wezelstraat in Koog aan de Zaan, behind the station. Please not right by the door on Stationsstraat.
Yes, at the rental you get a free paper route map for Around the North (8 km) or the Cocoa Route (10 km). The Zaan region is also signposted everywhere with cycle junctions.
